EPISODE DESCRIPTION

On July 18, 2015, Ron Huber of Friends of Penobscot Bay spoke with David Myslabodski about the state of democracy in Rockland, Maine.

David is a long time resident of Rockland, which is located on the west coast of Penobscot Bay and is the economic hub of the richest lobster fishery in all New England.

A regular participant in civic affairs, he has watched city councilors and mayors come and go.

In this 21 minute interview, David describes how he has observed what appear to be deliberate efforts by the latest crop of Rockland city officials and functionaries to weaken the power of private citizens in the city decisionmaking processes.
